Konscht am Gronn

Konscht am Gronn is an open air gallery in Luxemburg. You can meet me every first Sunday of the summer months from 10a.m. till 6.00pm on and around the picturesque bridge across the Alzette in Luxemurg old town.

Breskens Lighthouse

The lighthouse at Breskens is a real landmark on the dunes of Zeeland, Netherlands and I set out to paint it on location on a sunny morning in spring. Having found a suitable spot, I set up my easel on the beach and put on suncream and skipped hat – both very important when painting on location with skin as yet unused to the strong sun! With only the beach in the foreground, the sea beyond and those typical wavebreakers on the Zeeland coast, I have kept the composition minimalistic and free of too much dune landscape, people or other distractions. The focus is on the lighthouse itself as a symbol protecting from danger and guiding to a safe haven.

Walking Tyrolean Mountains

Walking in the beautiful Tyrolean mountains provides inspiration for new paintings. On a hike to Birgitzeralm via the Birgitzköpfl took us close to the Nockspitze that I have painted many times and offered a splendid view of Axamer Lizum. This range of sharp crags never ceases to fascinate me.

Skye Daffodils

This is me accompanied by my border collie Islay painting “Skye Daffodils” in my sister’s garden on the beautiful Isle of Skye, Scotland. I often visit this beautiful Island which is a magnet for artists. As the weather was changeable, I didn’t dare venture too far from the house. Since I found the Easter daffodils inspiring against the otherwise muted tones of the background, I set up my easle in my sister’s garden to paint this scene on a fresh spring day.
