HOUSES BEHIND THE SEA WALL, ANSTRUTHER

Description

On a painting trip to Scotland, I visited Anstruther – a pretty fishing village on the East Coast. It was a chilly April day and so I found a spot out of the wind standing on the beach below the sea wall. The obvious view to paint was the sea but I saw charm in these old houses with their different colours and high chimneys. Here they stand, sheltering from the sometimes stormy sea behind this old wall which, like the houses themselves, has stood for centuries.
“Houses behing the Sea Wall, Anstruther” was painted on site on 600g rough, mould-made Hahnemühle paper using Windsor and Newton watercolours paints. It comes mounted in a warm white mount to fit a standard frame size of 50x50cm.
